Council tax receipts and returns

The aim of the CTRR return is to monitor councils collection levels relating to council tax. Information is collected relating to the amounts billed and received and the year to which the payment refers and is published annually in the Council Tax Collection statistics publication.

This information is also required by ONS for national accounts purposes.

The return is usually issued in July to collect figures on Quarter 1 and in April to collect the end of financial year data.

The CTRR Q1 2021-22 form is available here in Excel format, as well as the Q4 2020-21. Older returns have been archived.
