Anne's Law draft regulations: consultation report - easy read

Easy read summary version of the consultation report on the draft regulations for Anne's Law which impose new duties relating to visiting in care homes on care home providers.

Survey and Care Home Visits

For the consultation we:

  • carried out a survey
  • visited 5 care homes
  • heard from some organisations

A survey is when someone asks you to answer some questions.

We also talked to members of the Anne’s Law National Oversight Group.

Members of the Anne’s Law National Oversight Group help the Scottish Government to make sure that people living in care homes feel connected to the people important to them.

In the survey we asked if the regulations are easy to understand.

We also asked if the regulations meet the needs of:

  • people living in care homes
  • their family and friends
  • people who work in care homes

More than 2 hundred people and organisations filled in the survey.

When we visited care homes we spoke to:

  • the people who lived there
  • their family and friends
  • the people who worked there

This gave us more information about their experiences.
