There were 34 responses to the consultation, 32 of which gave permission for their response to be published on Citizen Space.

Individual respondents included both private citizens and professionals with public sector finance and legislative expertise. Respondents categorised as stakeholder organisations reflect those organisations that engage with local authorities professionally, for example to provide oversight and assurance or to collaborate on the delivery of public services and therefore have an interest in the outcome of the consultation exercise.
The consultation was complemented by two webinars to provide further information for respondents. A roundtable event was also held with representatives from each stakeholder group to explore more fully the desire for a General Power of Competence in Scotland and support the development of policy proposals following the conclusion of the consultation.
