General practice contractors - sufficient involvement: consultation analysis

Summarises feedback from 59 respondents in 2024 on whether current regulations governing sufficient involvement for GP contractors are appropriate. The purpose of the regulations is to ensure GP contractors are engaged in day-to-day provision of primary medical services.

Consultation analysis

This consultation analysis provides an overview of the responses gathered during a three-month consultation activity conducted between 22nd July 2024 and 21st October 2024. The primary aim of the consultation was to ask Health Boards, as the bodies responsible for managing general medical services contracts, and GP practice partners whether the new regulation and the associated involvement criteria are functioning as intended in 2010 and/or if the regulation and criteria could be improved. A total of 59 responses were received. These responses have been carefully reviewed and analysed to identify key themes that will inform future decision-making and planning. The findings presented in this report aim to provide a clear and actionable understanding of the feedback collected during the consultation period.
