Sustainable and regenerative agriculture: code of practice

Guidance tool that highlights the types of activities that can be adopted on a farm or croft, that will contribute to the development of sustainable and regenerative agricultural practices in Scotland.

Section 3: Summary

There are many Actions or Measures being carried out by farmers, crofters and land managers currently that are best practice and which they are not contractually obliged to carry out. These may not form part of the current regulatory rules under Cross Compliance or eligibility criteria required to qualify for support payments.

These Actions or Measures some of which are detailed in Section 2 above, demonstrate sustainable or regenerative actions aligned to a set of principles and contribute significantly to the climate and biodiversity targets set for the Future Support Framework and Vision for Agriculture.

It is hoped this best practice practical guide can assist farmers, crofters and land managers in choosing what actions to undertake that work for their land type and business.
