Carers Census, Scotland, 2019-20 and 2020-21

The Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 took effect on 1^st April 2018. The Act puts in place a system of carers' rights designed to improve consistency of support and prevent problems in order to help sustain caring relationships and protect carers' health and well-being. The Act also introduces the right to an Adult Carer Support Plan or Young Carer Statement based on each carer's personal outcomes and needs for support. The data reported here relates to carers being supported by local services during years two and three following the implementation of the Act.
