Latest main findings for businesses with 10+ employees and a presence in Scotland
- in the last 12 months, an estimated 20.1% of trading businesses had exported goods, services or both; and 28.8% of trading businesses had imported goods, services or both
- of businesses currently trading that have exported in the last 12 months, an estimated 15.1% exported more in March 2025 than March 2024, and 23.0% exported less
- of businesses currently trading that have imported in the last 12 months, an estimated 13.6% imported more in March 2025 than March 2024, and 16.5% imported less
- for an estimated 35.7% of exporters the cost of exporting increased in March 2025 compared with March 2024; a similar share of importers (36.8%) saw an increase in the cost of importing over this period
- US tariffs had some impact on an estimated 7.7% of businesses in the last month, while 15.9% expected to be impacted next month
