Avian flu (bird flu): near Kirriemuir, Angus (AIV 2025/01)
Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 was confirmed on 10 January 2025.
Highly pathogenic avian influenza was confirmed at a premises near Kirriemuir, Angus (AIV 2025/01) on 10 January 2025.
A Protection Zone and Surveillance Zone were declared. An end to these disease control zones was declared on 12 February 2025 at 10:31 am following completion of cleansing, disinfection and mandatory surveillance requirements.
This means all restrictions within this area have been lifted. Further details are in the declaration.
