Autism in Schools action plan: progress report

Report setting out progress against the Autism in Schools action plan

Covid-19 Impacts

We must acknowledge the ongoing impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on children and young people, their families and the professionals who support them. The new priorities that arose as part of the pandemic response and recovery meant that some actions within the Autism Action Plan were delayed and progress in some areas has been slower than expected. Despite these challenging circumstances, we have made good progress. However we acknowledge that there is more we can to do to improve the support we offer to autistic children and young people.

The Scottish Government and all our partner stakeholders involved in the Autism Action Plan remain committed to improving the experiences of all autistic children and young people and we intend to continue work in this area beyond the lifetime of this action plan.
