During 2021 to 2022, the previous 50,000 affordable homes target was met on 23 March 2022, a year later than planned, after delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and global issues around supply and workforce affected the pace at which homes could be delivered. The balance of homes delivered during March 2022 signalled the start of progress towards delivering the current 110,000 affordable homes target. This Scottish Government publication is derived from the Business Insights and Conditions Survey (BICS), a monthly survey run by the ONS (Office for National Statistics), which is then weighted to produce estimates for Scotland. Due to sample size constraints, estimates are not available for all Scottish industries.
