Overview

This publication provides background and quality information about the employment data (headcount and full-time equivalent) in Public sector employment in Scotland: employment by organisation.

Public sector organisation employment (PSOE) data are consistent with those used to produce the Accredited Official Statistics Public Sector Employment in Scotland (PSE) publication.  PSE presents quarterly headcount and full-time equivalent data for both the devolved and reserved public sectors in Scotland, as well as breakdowns by sector.

Information about data collection, validation, revisions and quality management of source data are relevant to PSOE data and is available in the background and quality information for public sector employment statistics.

These statistics are official statistics. Official statistics are statistics that are produced by crown bodies, those acting on behalf of crown bodies, or those specified in statutory orders, as defined in the Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007.
