Public sector employment in Scotland: employment by organisation for 1st Quarter 2026 

This release includes latest data for 2025 Quarter 4 (December) and 2026 Quarter 1 (March). 

Revision and removal of previously reported data 

Some data have been identified as incorrect during quality assurance checks by organisations. Where a correction has been identified by an organisation, the data has been removed from the time series, and a note is placed in the tables to notify users. Revised figures will be included in future publications.  

Revisions are a routine part of ensuring data quality and accuracy of PSE and PSOE statistics. Revisions to individual organisation data are made in line with the PSE revisions policy.  

Public Sector Employment: Employment by organisation: 2019 Quarter 1 to 2025 Quarter 3  

Correction to UHI North, West and Hebrides headcount and FTE data 

UHI North, West and Hebrides FTE and headcount data for the period Q1 2019 to Q3 2023 were found to be incomplete. Data from one of the constituent colleges were incorrectly reported under UHI North, West and Hebrides before the organisation formed through a merger in Q4 2023.

Data have been removed in the latest release and are not corrected in the supporting documents of this publication. A correction notice has also been placed on the publication. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
