What we do

The Directorate for Strategy supports, communicates and co-ordinates effective policy across the Scottish Government.

Responsibilities

We are responsible for:

• providing new strategic capacity at the heart of government
• working with colleagues to promote strategic approaches across the Scottish Government and prioritisation of government resources
• developing and applying specialist understanding of strategy in government
• adding value to the work of others by supporting better policy design
• developing the capability of the policy profession to improve policy and outcomes
