Building Safety Levy Expert Advisory Group
Overview
The Scottish Building Safety Levy Expert Advisory Group was set up in May 2024 to help inform policy development of a proposed levy to raise revenue to support the funding of the Scottish Government’s Cladding Remediation Programme.
The group’s remit is to provide expert advice, challenge and scrutiny of policy positions, with the aim of ensuring that the design of the prospective Scottish Building Safety Levy is compatible with its intended outcomes and meets the needs of industry and other stakeholders.
It will also seek to identify and offer solutions to any potential adverse impacts and unintended consequences, provide a broad view of subject matter expertise and perspectives and act as a sounding board.
The group has so far met on six occasions and further meetings will be scheduled following discussion with members.
Membership of the group may change to accommodate for the direction of discussions and the expertise required. An updated list of current group members can be found below.
