Director for Tackling Child Poverty and Social Justice
Julie Humphreys has been Director for Tackling Child Poverty and Social Justice since June 2024.
Responsibilities
The Director chairs the Tackling Child Poverty Delivery Plan 2026–2031 External Reference Group, providing strategic oversight and guidance on delivery and evaluation for the new plan.
She is a member of the
- Child Poverty Programme Board which plays a central role in coordinating efforts to meet statutory targets and turn policy into tangible action
- Dundee Fairer Futures Partnership Oversight Board which plays a key role in ensuring that Dundee’s local child poverty initiatives are strategic, effective, and sustainable
Biography
Julie previously served as Deputy Director for Tackling Child Poverty and Financial Wellbeing Division since September 2021.
Julie has been a civil servant since 2001 and has worked in a number of roles across the Scottish and UK Governments. These have included Children and Families; Communications; the Constitution; Enterprise; Regulation; Schools and Welfare Policy as well as supporting Ministers in their Private Offices.
