Throughout Scotland there are various organisations representing or working on behalf of older people. At national level Age Concern Scotland and Help the Aged have joined forces to become Age Scotland. Age Scotland works in many communities across Scotland in partnership with individual older people, older people's groups, and statutory and voluntary agencies. To find out about their community work and older people's groups in your area please contact us.

At local level many local elderly and pensioners forums campaign for the rights of older people. You should be able to find information about them locally, from libraries or community centres.

Age Scotland provides an information helpline service to older people in Scotland and those who care for and work with them. Please call 0845 125 9732, 10am - 4pm, Monday to Friday, or textphone 0845 226 5851 or email your enquiry.

Where the issue is care or community care, Care Information Scotland www.careinfoscotland.co.uk is a telephone and website service providing information about care services for older people living in Scotland. Its helpline number is 08456 001 001 (calls charged at local rate).
