Whole Family Support Fund: recipients

We are investing up to £20 million through the Whole Family Support Third Sector Delivery Fund to help more families across Scotland access support when and where they need it, in their local communities. This complements our wider work on whole family support, including the Fairer Futures Partnerships and the Whole Family Wellbeing Funding Programme.

By helping families access practical, financial and emotional support at an earlier stage, this investment will contribute to Scotland's mission to eradicate child poverty and improve outcomes for children, young people and families.

Following a rigorous and highly competitive assessment process, we have awarded funding to 10 third sector organisations and partnerships to deliver and scale up whole family support across Scotland. The fund attracted a high volume of strong applications, reflecting the depth and quality of whole family support already being delivered in communities.

Successful applicants demonstrated a strong understanding of local needs and clear plans to work in partnership with public services, communities and other third sector organisations to provide joined-up support for families. Collectively, funded organisations estimate that they could reach up to 35,000 families over time, operating across rural, urban and island communities. They will strengthen local support networks and make it easier for families to access the help they need.

About the funded projects

The funded projects will use a range of coordinated approaches, including:

• family navigation services
• financial inclusion and income maximisation support
• support for families with young children
• support for single parent families
• support for neurodivergent children and their families
• community-based and place-based services
• rural and island family support
• partnership working across public and third sector organisations

The Scottish Government will work with funded organisations to support join up, including with the Children First National Support Line, which is being expanded to provide a Scotland-wide gateway to cost of living and whole family support.

Community Enterprise in Scotland (CEIS) Ayrshire

Planned locations: East Ayrshire, North Ayrshire, South Ayrshire

Providing a dedicated Family Navigator to help families access coordinated support with money, housing, wellbeing, employability and other day-to-day challenges.

Borders Community Action

Planned locations: Dumfries and Galloway, Midlothian, Scottish Borders

Establishing a Whole Family Rural Collaborative that brings community organisations together to provide joined-up support for families across rural areas.

Early Years Scotland and Care and Learning Alliance (CALA)

Planned locations: Glasgow, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, Dumfries and Galloway, Highland, Moray, North Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire, West Dunbartonshire

Delivering an early years whole family support programme centred on babies, toddlers and early childhood development, with additional support for wider family needs.

Citizens Advice Scotland

Planned locations: Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Angus, Argyll and Bute, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Clackmannanshire, Dumfries and Galloway, East Lothian, Falkirk, Fife, Highland, Inverclyde, North Lanarkshire, Orkney, Perth and Kinross, Renfrewshire, Stirling, West Lothian

Providing integrated support for families with children under five through advice, family coordination and tailored whole family support plans.

Capital City Partnership

Planned locations: Edinburgh, East Lothian, Fife, Midlothian, Scottish Borders, West Lothian

Delivering a whole family support service focused on low-income ethnically diverse families through dedicated keyworkers and joined-up services.

Salvesen Mindroom Centre

Planned locations: Glasgow, Dumfries and Galloway, Dundee, East Lothian, North Lanarkshire, West Lothian

Supporting families raising neurodivergent children through dedicated family advisers, system navigation and access to coordinated services.

Big Hearts Community Trust

Planned locations: Aberdeen, East Ayrshire, Edinburgh, Falkirk, Inverclyde

Using football club charities as trusted community hubs to provide long-term whole family support for families experiencing poverty.

Glasgow Council for the Voluntary Sector

Planned locations: Glasgow, East Dunbartonshire, East Renfrewshire, Inverclyde, North Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire, South Lanarkshire, West Dunbartonshire

Funding local community organisations to deliver coordinated whole family support across communities in the Glasgow City Region.

Home-Start Caithness

Planned locations: Argyll and Bute, Highland, Orkney

Providing a single access point to coordinated practical, financial, emotional and therapeutic support through a partnership of organisations serving rural and island communities.

One Parent Families Scotland
