Water Environment (Unconventional Oil or Gas Development) (Scotland) Revocation Direction 2020

These direct the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) in regard to unconventional oil or gas development.

The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by regulation 20(1) of the Water Environment (Controlled Activities) (Scotland) Regulations 2011 (S.S.I. 2011/209) (“the Regulations”) and all other powers enabling them to do so, give the following Direction to the Scottish Environment Protection Agency.

In accordance with regulation 20(2) of the Regulations, the Scottish Ministers have consulted the Scottish Environment Protection Agency.

Citation and commencement

1.This Direction may be cited as the Water Environment (Controlled Activities) (Unconventional Oil or Gas Development) (Scotland) Revocation Direction 2020 and comes into force on 15 July 2020.

Revocation

2.The Water Environment (Controlled Activities) (Unconventional Oil or Gas Development) (Scotland) (No.2) Direction 2015 (The Water Environment (Controlled Activities) (Unconventional Oil or Gas Development) (Scotland) (No.2) Direction 2015 was made by the Scottish Ministers on 8 October 2015) is revoked.
