Violence against women and girls services: call for evidence - easy read

Easy Read version of a call for evidence to inform the development of a new funding model for violence against women and girls services in Scotland.

Violence Against Women and Girls Services

The Scottish Government is planning new funding for these services.

Please tell us your thoughts about the services and the funding.

We are planning new funding for Violence Against Women and Girls services.

Violence Against Women and Girls services are things like:

  • safe places to stay
  • counselling
  • advice
  • money
  • legal support
  • specialist health care
  • specialist crime support
  • education
  • help finding a job

These services are for women and children who are being hurt or harmed.

These services are also called specialist services.

This is part of a Strategic Review.

This means we are looking very closely at what works and what doesn't work.

We want to know what you think about these services and their funding.

We want to hear from:

  • individual people
  • organisations

We are asking you about these things:

  • the types of services that should be offered to women, children and young people who experience violence
  • who should offer these services
  • people's rights to get these services
  • how to make these services easier for anyone to get
  • how to make sure that these services offer the same high quality right across Scotland
  • if services should be matched to the needs of a local area
  • what should happen when:
  • someone doesn't get the services they need
  • different areas offer different services
  • how to make sure that women, children and young people who have experienced violence can help to make the new services better
  • how long funding should last to make sure services can carry on
  • how easy to make the paperwork for services applying for funding
  • how to stop violence happening against women and girls in Scotland
