Ukraine Longer Term Resettlement Fund

Guidance and application form for Local Authorities and Registered Social Landlords for the Ukraine Longer Term Resettlement Fund.

Overview

Guidance and application process

Scotland is welcoming displaced people from Ukraine. Through this Fund, Scottish Government (SG) is working with Local Authorities (LAs) and Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) to increase the number of homes available to support the longer term resettlement of Ukrainian Displaced Persons (UDPs). Through improving and bringing void homes back into use, these homes are intended to temporarily rehouse UDPs for a period of up to 3 years. Should the homes no longer be available after this period, (for example due to planned demolition programmes), LAs and RSLs will be expected to work with any tenants who wish to remain in the area to identify alternative accommodation.

Principles applying to the fund

Scottish Ministers have approved up to £50m for the Fund. Given the need to urgently boost the supply of available accommodation, we will prioritise applications which deliver completed homes by 31 March 2023. Projects with homes completing in 2023/2024 will be considered by exception.

The funding will be available as a capital grant to LA’s and RSLs.

A list of projects approved through the Fund has been published.
