Introduction

The Chair welcomed members to the group.

Chair confirmed that Director of Equality Inclusion & Human Rights is meeting with UK Government to discuss the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) Code of Practice later this month and an update would be provided at the next meeting.

Q&A on Scottish Statutory Instrument (SSI) to Hate Crime Act

Criminal Law Team Leader provided an overview and responded to questions regarding the laying of the SSI related to the Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act 2021.

Education - Impact Assessment Update

Education Unit Head provided an update on the findings of the Impact Assessments for the Supporting Transgender Pupils in Schools Guidance.

Members were invited to offer their views on the proposed publication timeline.
