Welcome

The new Chair of the Group, DG Education and Justice, welcomed members and thanked former DG for her work since the judgment. 
Chair reminded members that it was important to continue to consider the judgment in a careful and considered way. 
Chair informed members of correspondence received from chair of EHRC (Equality and Human Rights Commission) which asks for an update on the work of the Group and a response to this will be drafted.  
Members agreed the minutes from the previous meeting.

Legal issues 

Update was provided on current legal issues, followed by discussion on this. 

Update from DG corporate 

DG Corporate provided an update regarding work to review Scottish Governments own policies and guidance and the next steps for this.  

Update from DG health 

DG Health provided an update regarding their ongoing work, including meetings with Health Board Chief Executives. 

EHRC Code Of Practice

An update was given on the Code of Practice which has been submitted to the UK Government, but a copy has not been received by Scottish Government. A letter asking for this has been sent to UK Government.  
It was explained that the UK Government will lay Code of Practice in Parliament for 40 days where it can then be debated, once they have approved it. 

Update from DG Education and Justice 

Colleagues from Police Division provided an update on workshops that had been carried out on the Stop and Search Code of Practice. 
A consultation for this is planned to be published by the end of the year. 

Updates from other DG areas

DG Net Zero highlighted some emerging work regarding funding for training women in agriculture which they are continuing to work through.

The Chair thanked members for their attendance and brought the meeting to a close.

It was agreed that the Spotlight Session at the next meeting would be on Health.
