Adult social care support and community health: equality impact assessment summary - Easy Read

Summary of the equality impact assessment (EQIA) on the development of the the Scottish Learning and Improvement Framework for adult social care support and community health (SLIF).

Summary of the Scottish Learning and Improvement Framework for Adult Social Care Support and Community Health Equality Impact Assessment (EQIA)

The Scottish Government, COSLA, NHS and SOLACE have made a draft framework to help make Adult Social Care Support and Community Health services better.

A framework is a plan. This plan is about improving adult social care, social work and community services. It is for adults who use services, unpaid carers and staff.

An Equality Impact Assessment (EQIA) was done. This is to understand how the Framework might affect people with protected characteristics.

Protected characteristics are age, disability, sex, pregnancy & maternity, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, sexual orientation, race, religion and belief.

People may have been treated unfairly because of these.

We looked at how the SLIF might help:

  • stop unfair treatment
  • being fair
  • good relationships

We looked at information we already had. We spoke with people with protected characteristics who use health and social care services.
