Student mental health action plan: child rights and wellbeing impact assessment

Assessment of the impact of the student mental health action plan on the rights and wellbeing of children; this has been carried out in line with the duties placed on Scottish Ministers under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024.

This document is an assessment of the likely effects of the Student Mental Health Action Plan on the rights and wellbeing of children. Scottish Government will continue to review and update this document where required during the lifetime of the Plan. Any future iterations will reflect an increased understanding of these impacts as the amount of evidence available continues to grow.

This impact assessment should be read in conjunction with related Impact Statements in relation to the Mental health and wellbeing strategy (2023), Mental health and wellbeing: workforce action plan 2023-2025, and the Mental health and wellbeing strategy: delivery plan 2023-2025.
