Social care - Practitioner and Stakeholder Panel: terms of reference

Terms of reference for the advisory Practitioner and Stakeholder Panel for the Independent Review of Inspection, Scrutiny and Regulation of social care.


Remit 

Specific functions may vary but, unless otherwise agreed, the PSP will:

  • support the Chair and Vice Chair in determining what is needed from the regulation, scrutiny and inspection of social care support services, both now and in the future, to achieve the best outcomes for the people of Scotland
  • facilitate communication and sharing of ideas, skills and knowledge between related areas of work and support the gathering of further information
  • provide insight on the current system and opportunities for change
  • highlight barriers and solutions to current practice
  • explore solutions to risks identified so they can be mitigated or eliminated
  • consider and advise on evidence-based options for change
  • ensure that the Review consults widely and in an accessible way
  • provide advice on the approach, methodology, engagement mechanisms and plans adopted by the Review when conducting stakeholder engagement
  • exercise due care in the use of information shared and protect information that is received, in confidence, from unauthorised disclosure
