2024 to 2025

Fourteen projects were awarded funding totalling £460,000 in 2024 to 2025 to support veterans across Scotland with health, employment and cost of living challenges

Community Veterans Support Warmer, Healthier, Safer Veterans £19,927 Extended warmer spaces provision for veterans into evenings and weekends, including food, peer support and financial advice.
Erskine One-Stop-Shop £13,450 Tailored financial advocacy, guidance and support to veterans through Erskine's One Stop Shop.
Fighting with Pride The Journey Home Project in Scotland £49,822 Developing the Veterans Standard Manager role in Scotland to build the community of LGBT veterans and improve capacity in supporting services.
FirstLight Trust Supporting the support £27,500 A new support worker for the Hawick Hub to develop support pathways for veterans impaired by physical or psychological trauma.
Forces Children Scotland Future Transitions: Financial Education for Civilian Life £38,624 A financial education service to support children, young people and parents making the transition from military to civilian life.
Forces Employment Charity Early Service Leavers – Scotland Co-ordinator £50,000 A dedicated co-ordinator providing employment support for early service leavers in Scotland.
Lothian Veterans Centre Warm Welcome for veterans and their families £24,703 A warm hub offering food, heating and social interaction for veterans and their families, with access to onward support.
Military Wives Choir Supporting our Hidden Community £40,000 Enhancing support for members in Scotland and reaching more women whose lives are impacted by their connection to the military.
On Course Foundation Golf skills and employment programme £16,344 A golf skills and employment programme with confidence-building events, peer networking and employment opportunities.
Salute my Job Career Jumpstart Programme £41,700 Reskilling jobseekers from the armed forces community for roles in greatest demand across the public, private and third sectors.
Scotland Bravest Manufacturing Company Enhanced Manufacturing Traineeship £50,000 Opportunities for early service leavers and veterans to gain qualifications and sustainable employment with a qualified trainer.
Scottish Veterans Residences Occupational Therapy to Improve Veterans' Health and Wellbeing £43,624 A full-time occupational therapist supporting veterans' physical and mental health recovery through a holistic approach.
SSAFA Professional Support to Relieve the Cost of Living Crisis £10,000 Part-funding a Regional Casework Manager to improve the agility and responsiveness of caseworkers supporting veterans in Scotland.
Thistle Health and Wellbeing Meaningful Connections £34,130 Supporting 150 veterans and their families across Scotland, particularly early service leavers, medically discharged veterans and those with mental health needs.
