Information on the Scottish Social Housing Tender Price Index (SSHTPI) and Quarterly Report for September 2025.
Background
- the provisional results for 1Q 2025 to 2026 indicate an increase of 8.9% on 4Q 2024 to 2025, and an increase of 2.1% in the year from 1Q 2024 to 2025
- the firm index for 3Q 2024 to 2025 indicates a quarterly decrease of 4.8%
- on an annual basis, the 3Q 2024 to 2025 figure is up on 3Q 2023 to 2024 by 4.2%
- underlying construction costs of labour, materials, and plant, as measured by the BCIS General Building Cost Index (GBCI), increased by 1.7% on a quarter-on-quarter basis in 1Q 2025 to 2026 and increased by 3.5% when compared with the same quarter a year earlier
- over the year to 1Q 2025 to 2026, underlying inflation, as measured by the Consumer Prices Index (CPI), rose by 3.5%
