This guide explains how to request Scottish Government (SG) and National Records of Scotland (NRS) Census data that isn't already publicly available.
Before you make a request
Check if the data you need is already available on:
- our official statistics
- statistics.gov.scot (our open data platform)
We are committed to making our data accessible to everyone, in line with data protection legislation. If the data you require isn’t available on these sites, then a request for SG and published NRS Census data can be submitted.
