Items and actions

The Advisory Group discussed the use of data to identify vulnerable groups and noted work ongoing to bring various data sources together to help determine the impact of COVID19 across different groups. This work will be examined by the group once available.

Following advice provided to the Scottish Government on the current lockdown arrangements and potential next steps, the Advisory Group agreed to build on SAGE advice to identify options where additional consideration of the Scottish context was advisable.

The Advisory Group received a short presentation and two papers relating to behavioural science considerations and communication with the public. The Group noted that public compliance with countermeasures has been high. Ambiguity of messaging and practical factors such as economic circumstances were noted as factors that may sometimes limit compliance.

It was agreed that public communication must be clear but not over simplified. The Group agreed to give further consideration to ways in which public views and experiences may be sought in order to feed into Scottish Government decision making.
