Scotland's Climate Change Plan 2026-2040: children's version

children's version of Scotland’s Climate Change Plan 2026 to 2040.

Your Part to Play

You have the power to play an important part in Scotland’s journey adapting to climate change. Here are some ideas of things you can do in your daily life:

If you have a garden or a local public green space, consider planting trees, helping with the gardening or creating a home for different wildlife (e.g. bug hotels).

Let your family and friends know about the Climate Change Plan. Talking about Climate Change and what you can do to help is important. The more people know about the actions in the plan, the better.

When travelling to and from school and other places, try to use public transport, walk, wheel and cycle and car share where possible.

Recycle bottles and paper. Try to repair things instead of throwing them away. Also use reusable bottles and lunch boxes.

Ask your parents how you heat your house. Let them know about heat pumps and see if you can research them together.

Join school eco clubs to talk about taking more climate action in your school and at home. Get involved in community clean-up days or go to your local Climate Hub.
