Safer Communities and Justice Statistics Monthly Data Report June 2026
This report contains summary statistics covering a number of important justice and safer communities areas. It is updated with the most recently published statistics every month.
Introduction
This report provides a general overview of a number of important justice and safer communities statistics. Data has been gathered from mainly Scottish Government statistics and may be subject to future revision as more recent data becomes available. The document is reviewed every month to keep it as up to date as possible. Please note that some justice and safer community partners publish their own statistics that are not covered in this compendium. These may provide more current information.
Any newly updated summary statistics for the month are preceded by * New *
Changes to the frequency of this publication
This is the final monthly publication of this series. Going forward, the compendium of statistics will be published on a quarterly basis. The first quarterly publication is scheduled for 24 September 2026 and will be titled Safer Communities and Justice Statistics Quarterly Report.
The majority of the information included in the report is drawn from previously published justice statistics, as announced in the Scottish Government’s Official statistics: forthcoming publications. Prison management information will, in future publications, cover three months of data rather than a single month.
The decision to reduce the publication frequency to quarterly has been taken to ensure more efficient use of resources and to support wider justice statistics priorities. The impact on users should be minimal as the statistics this compendium draws upon are published no more frequently than quarterly (with many only published on an annual basis).
