Recorderd Crime in Scotland: Attempted Murder and Serious Assualt, 2008-09 and 2017-18

All of the reduction in Attempted Murder and Serious Assault between 2008-09 and 2017-18 is due to fewer crimes of Attempted Murder and Serious Assault which involved:

1. A male victim, under 30 years old, in a public space, with a weapon - this scenario is estimated to have fallen by 710, which would account for 31% of the total fall in recorded Attempted Murder and Serious Assault since 2008-09.

2. A male victim, under 30 years old, in a public space, with no weapon - this scenario is estimated to have fallen by 530, which would account for 23% of the total fall in recorded Attempted Murder and Serious Assault since 2008-09.

3. A male victim, under 30 years old, in a private space, with a weapon - this scenario is estimated to have fallen by 370, which would account for 16% of the total fall in recorded Attempted Murder and Serious Assault since 2008-09.

4. A male victim, aged 30 or above, in a public space, with a weapon - this scenario is estimated to have fallen by 330, which would account for 14% of the total fall in recorded Attempted Murder and Serious Assault since 2008-09.

5. A male victim, aged 30 or above, in a private space, with a weapon - this scenario is estimated to have fallen by 350, which would account for 15% of the total fall in recorded Attempted Murder and Serious Assault since 2008-09.
