Statement of reasons providing detail of the considerations that have been made in the decision to seek an extension to the Coronavirus (Scotland) Act 2020 and the Coronavirus (Scotland) (No. 2) Act 2020 and the recommended list of provisions which are proposed to be covered by an extension.

At the same time the Parole Board (Scotland) Amendment Rules 2022 will amend the Parole Board (Scotland) Rules 2001 with the same effect as the modifications made by the temporary provisions. The amended rules are due to come into force on 10 March 2022 at the same time as the temporary provisions expire.
