Funding and expenses
PNBS is funded entirely by the Scottish Government in terms of Chair remuneration, Secretariat support, publications and any additional expenses.
Chair remuneration
As of 01 April 2025, the daily remuneration for the role of PNBS chair was £354 per day, previously £343 per day from 1 January to 31 March 2025.

- Remuneration fees: £10,537.77
- Travel and subsistence expenses: £173.70

Independent Secretariat
The Secretariat is provided by the Scottish Government Police Division at no additional cost to the PNBS.
PNBS publications
PNBS publish documents including circulars and annual reports on the PNBS website. In this reporting period, PNBS published their 2024 annual report and thirteen circulars, at a total cost of £4,555.43. This was provided by the Scottish Government.
