Perinatal and infant mental health: equalities impact assessment

The Perinatal and Infant Mental Health EQIA sets out the available evidence for additional risks of those with protected characteristics have in facing mental health challenges during the perinatal period or as an infant and what barriers may exist in people accessing services. This EQIA has highlighted several communities as being both at risk of experiencing mental health difficulties and not accessing support if they need it. The results of this EQIA will inform service development and delivery and ensure equitable access to mental health support throughout pregnancy and during the postnatal period, and in the early years of childhood.
