Pain management service delivery implementation plan: progress report

An update on progress against the actions we are taking to reduce the impact of chronic pain on quality of life and wellbeing and improve information, care and services for people in Scotland, as set out in the Pain management - service delivery framework: implementation plan.

Overview

The Pain management service delivery implementation plan published in July 2022 set out 18 initial actions to deliver the framework for pain management service delivery with estimated timeframes for delivery. Significant progress has been made against these actions. The Short Life Working Groups (SLWGs) and Pain Management Networks established to support implementation continue to evolve and develop the current actions. The implementation is supported by a new and robust governance structure.

This report details the progress we have made against each action and accompanies our updated Implementation Plan which sets out our continued commitment to improving the lives of those living with chronic pain in Scotland.
