National Strategy for Community Justice revision: consultation

This consultation seeks views on key aspects of the revised National Strategy for Community Justice.

6. Strategy structure

As informed by our review consultation and engagement with partners, the revised strategy will be more streamlined than the previous strategy, and will focus on setting out four national aims for community justice, and 14 priority actions which the Scottish Government and community justice partners should take over the duration of the strategy.

The strategy document will include:

One-page summary – this will be an accessible, more graphic version of the strategy.

Introductory section – this will include some of the contextual information from section 5 of this consultation, including for example our definition of community justice, the scope and purpose of the strategy, who is involved in community justice and the strategic context for the strategy.

National aims and priority actions – this will set out our four national aims, and 14 priority actions that community justice partners should be focussing on over the course of the strategy. More detailed actions, assigned to specific partners with timescales, will be included in the accompanying delivery plan.

This consultation is intended to seek views on the substantive content of the national aims and priority actions that community justice partners should be focussing on over the course of the strategy. Section 7 details the national aims and priority actions for the revised strategy, and section 8 sets out a list of our consultation questions on this content.
