Mental Health Scrutiny and Assurance Evidence Review

This is a national review of the scrutiny and assurance of mental health services in Scotland. The aim of this review is to map and assess current scrutiny arrangements, and to inform the Scottish Government’s considerations for how these may be strengthened.

The School of Forensic Mental Health research team would like to extend their sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to this study. The team is particularly grateful to the individuals who shared perspectives via the national survey, either their own or those of a colleague. The team would like to thank the multi-disciplinary group of professionals from a number of organisations for the time they offered in interviews, and the high level of engagement at a busy time with ongoing service challenges. Finally, the research team thanks members of the project’s Research Advisory Group for their support, guidance and feedback.
