Addendum to agreed record of fisheries consultations between the United Kingdom and the Faroe Islands for 2025, of 30 December 2024

1. A Delegation from the Faroe Islands, headed by Ingibjørg Tummassardóttir Petersen and a Delegation from the United Kingdom, headed by Catherine Perez, met in Torshavn on 5 November 2025, to consult on mutual fisheries relations for 2025. A list of participants is attached in Annex 1. 

2. The Delegations recalled the Framework Agreement on Fisheries between the Government of the Faroe Islands and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland signed in Copenhagen on 29 October 2020 ("the Framework Agreement"). They recalled the principles which underpin their close cooperation as set out in Article 1 of that agreement.

3. The Delegations recalled the Agreed Record of Fisheries Consultations between the United Kingdom and the Faroe Islands for 2025, which they had signed on 30 December 2024, to which this addendum relates. The Delegations noted that they had taken a precautionary approach to the level of bycatch quota that might be required in the mackerel fishery in 2025. They welcomed the close working between the parties over the course of the year to review the actual level of bycatch for the mackerel fishery as not all the bycatch quota for 2025 was used. Consequently, the Delegations agreed that, on this occasion, some of the unused bycatch quota by Faroese vessels would be returned to the UK. 

4. The Delegations agreed to the quota exchanges set out in Table 1.

5. This addendum shall become effective as of today, and all other measures outlined in the original Agreed Record of 30 December 2024 shall still apply.
