Building (Procedure) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2024: island communities impact assessment
Passivhaus standard - determining the principles for a Scottish equivalent. Proposed changes to energy and environmental standards within Scottish building regulations. This impact assessment covers the regulatory changes made following the July 2024 consultation.
Implementation and publication
48. With the qualifications noted above on the need to provide a further ICIA in support of proposed changes to non-legislative provisions which will define new performance targets and processes, it is considered that the proposed changes to regulations do not result in a disproportionate effect on island communities.
49. Engagement to date has identified that there is a need to support aspects of the development process for island communities. This will be continues as a theme in ongoing work with the construction sector on the development, consultation and implementation of further changes during 2025/26.
