Housing statistics quarterly update - new housebuilding and affordable housing supply: FOI release

Information requested

For the financial year 22/23 (and 21/22 if possible) we are looking for the individual detail of each property.

New build starts:

• Postcode
• Address
• Person or company responsible for the developments (this is possibly planning applicant)
• Main contractor
• Date of start
• Whether private, local authority or Housing Association
• Council region

New build completions:

• Postcode
• Address
• Person or company responsible for the developments (this is possibly planning applicant)
• Main contractor
• Date of completion
• Whether private, local authority or Housing Association
• Council region

I have attached a copy of some of the information you requested as an excel workbook.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have all of the information you have requested. The unit level data we hold is for each construction site, instead of each property. Also, not all site data held includes details on the postcode, address, planning applicant, or the main contractor.

Glasgow provide data in a different format, which for completions is at property level, though at a site level for starts, and includes both private sector and social sector new builds. Named individuals in the applicant field have been redacted.

Attached is the fullest information held. Local Authorities may be able to provide more information if contacted directly.
