Facility time reporting: guidance for public sector employers

This guidance is now out of date following repeal of statutory facility time reporting requirements under the Employment Rights Act 2025. Public sector employers are no longer required to publish facility time data.

Addendum

An addendum was published on 2 June 2026 to reflect the repeal of the statutory requirements on trade union facility time reporting under the Employment Rights Act 2025. Additional text has been added at the beginning of the publication.

An errata was published on date 21 September 2020 as a result of changes on PDF page 1 on the deadline that has now been extended to 30 September 2020.
