Grouse Moor Management Group: report following eighth meeting

As noted in the report following the seventh meeting of the Grouse Moor Management Group in December 2018, the Group completed its evidence gathering with meetings on 3 and 20 December.  Since then, meetings of the Group have focused on agreeing recommendations and drafting the report.  At these meetings only the six Group members have been present; the specialist advisers not being included at this stage in our work.

Following the February 2019 meeting of the Group I was incapacitated by illness and signed off work for two months.  As a result the planned schedule of meetings in 2019 has been revised.   The most recent meeting was on 9 May with two further meetings scheduled in June.  The Group now plans to submit its report to the Cabinet Secretary during the summer.

I do not anticipate making any further reports on the work of my Group in advance of submitting our report to the Cabinet Secretary.
