Information requested

1) How many Scottish teachers are still waiting for their RSS?

2) How many deferred Scottish teachers are still waiting for their RSS?

Response

As of 14 May 2026, 4,800 Immediate Choice RSS have been sent to members of the Scottish Teachers’ Superannuation Scheme. There are 16,720 Immediate Choice RSS still to be sent to Remedy eligible members. There are also 2,179 outstanding Remedy eligible members who applied for retirement without receiving an RSS at the time.

There are currently 37,360 members eligible to receive an RSS when they retire (Deferred Choice). The majority of these members have not applied for retirement. As of 14 May 2026, we have sent 112 RSS to Deferred Choice members.
