Education Scotland - Information on working from home policy: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

Please include the following information for the following years 2022/23, 2023/24, 2024/25 and 2025/26 (so far):

  • Copies of your work from home policy for staff for each year.
  • If the data exists, office occupancy rates.
  • The most common work from home policy that staff adopt.

If this is not possible to provide the information requested due to the information exceeding the cost of compliance limits identified in Section 12, please provide advice and assistance, under the Section 16 obligations of the Act, as to how I can refine my request.

Response

Hybrid working arrangements are agreed locally between individual employees and their line managers, therefore, we do not have a work from home policy.

While our aim is to provide information wherever possible, in this instance Education Scotland does not centrally collect or maintain data on office occupancy rates or on the most frequently adopted hybrid working patterns.

This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that Education Scotland does not hold the information you have requested.
