Information requested

Under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, I would like to request the following information...

1. all briefing sent to Cabinet Secretary for Constitution, External Affairs and Cultures for work holiday to Switzerland in November 2025.

2. all briefing sent to Cabinet Secretary for Constitution, External Affairs and Cultures for work holiday to Germany in November 2025.

Response

The Cabinet Secretary visited Bern and Berlin on an official visit in 2025. For the purposes of this request, I interpret your request as asking for briefing relating to the Cabinet Secretary's official visit.

I enclose a copy of the information you requested.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because exemptions under sections 28(1) (relations with the UK Government), 30(b)(i) (free and frank provision of advice), and 38(1)(b) (personal information) of FOISA apply to that information. The reasons why those exemptions apply are explained in the Annex to this letter.
