Scottish Agricultural Wages Board Employees query: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

You asked for

  • In each year since 2020-21, including the current year to date, how many staff at this organisation have a home address based in England?
  • Please break this down by pay banding if possible.

Response

The answer to your question is that the Scottish Agricultural Wages Board does not directly have any employees.

The board comprises of 17 members:

  • 6 representing the interests of employers nominated by NFU Scotland and the Scottish Land and Estates
  • 6 representing the interests of workers nominated by Unite the Union
  • 5 independent members appointed by Scottish Ministers, one of whom is designated Chair

Scottish Government is not sighted on the home addresses of board members who are representing the employees and employers’ interests, as they are directly employed by other organisations. Independent members’ addresses are known to Scottish Government, since they are appointed by Scottish Ministers, and none have had addresses based in England during the time span requested.

As the board do not employ any staff, there is no information in relation to pay bandings. The Independent members receive a daily allowance from the Scottish Government for their time spent on Board work. Employers and employees’ representatives do not receive any payment from Scottish Government.
