Scottish Government Capital Funding for New School Buildings: FOI release

“Under Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, I am requesting information on capital funding provided directly by the Scottish Government to local authorities for the construction of new-build or full replacement primary, secondary or ASN school buildings in Scotland.

This request concerns only to capital funding relating to:

• New-build schools, or
• Full replacement schools where an existing school building was demolished or permanently decommissioned.

Please exclude: refurbishment-only projects, extensions to existing buildings, nursery/ELC-only projects, and local authority self-financed capital expenditure.

Please break this request down by:

• Local Authority
• Name of School
• Level of Education (Primary / Secondary)
• Programme / Funding Route
• Financial Year(s) in which Scottish Government capital funding was provided
• Total Scottish Government capital contribution to the project (£) (If phased, state total and also annual amounts if held.)

 Time period requested: 1 April 2014 – 31 March 2024.

If funding was provided indirectly through Scottish Futures Trust or another delivery vehicle, please list:

• The delivery mechanism (e.g., NPD)
• Whether Scottish Government capital was used to support or enable the project
• The project-specific capital value attributable to Scottish Government funds"
