Reform of council tax meetings information: FOI release
Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002
Information requested
For the period 29th March 2023 - date, please provide a list of the meetings (in person or virtual) involving Shona Robison at which the reform of council tax was discussed. For each relevant meeting, please indicate the date of the meeting and who attended the meeting.
Response
I have attached a copy of the information you have requested in Microsoft Excel workbook format to this response. It may be helpful to clarify that Ms Shona Robison MSP currently acts as co-chair of the Joint Working Group on Sources of Local Government Funding and Council Tax Reform in her Capacity as Cabinet Secretary for Finance & Local Government. The Joint Working Group was established to provide a space for joint dialogue on local government funding and council tax issues including approaches to reform of Council Tax. The group is co-chaired by the Scottish Ministers and the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA).
I have included a separate worksheet in the attached Microsoft Excel workbook which lists the meetings of the Joint Working Group that Ms Robison was present at and their attendees. You can find currently published minutes of all the meetings of the Joint Working Group on Sources of Local Government Funding and Council Tax Reform on the Scottish Government web site at Local government finance sources and council tax reform: joint working group - gov.scot.
In addition I have also included a separate worksheet in the attached Microsoft Excel workbook response relating to other meetings attended by Ms Shona Robison MSP which related to Council Tax reform.
