Information requested

1.) How many 16-18 year old are in full or part time secondary school education in Scotland?

2.) How many 16-18 year old are in full or part time further education in Scotland?

Response

1.) Information on the number of 16 to 18 year olds at publicly funded schools in Scotland is published in table 3.4 of the pupil census supplementary statistics.

2.) SFC publish the number of college enrolments on Further Education (FE) and Higher Education (HE) courses split by age each year in the College Statistics Publication. Data for 2023-24 can be accessed in Table 7 here: College Statistics 2023-24 - Scottish Funding Council. If a breakdown for FE and HE is needed, SFC can provide this datarequests@sfc.ac.uk
